My wife and I are in the middle of our annual Whole 30 challenge. We love doing this at least once a year. It is a great opportunity to reset our bodies and change the way we look at the food we put into it. But, man, it is really hard. One thing that helps us get through the month is to find yummy whole 30 snacks to enjoy. There really is no shortage of them and you can actually eat very well during this program. Some of the best recipes we have ever made have been whole 30 recipes.
Sweet Potato Recipes
One quick piece of advice is to use sweet potatoes a lot. We love sweet potatoes in this house and there is so much you can do with them. They are a great ingredient for every meal of the day and fantastic for snacks. My daughter can really put away some sweet potato fries!
Whole 30 Snack Ideas
I want to share a quick and easy whole 30 snack recipe that my wife and I love to make. It is perfect for breakfast or any other time of day.
Ingredients
- One Sweet Potato
- Ghee with Vanilla
- Cinnamon
Slice the sweet potato into thin slices. About 1/4 inch think. Sweet potatoes can be hard to slice, I’ve found that it is good to use a serrated knife to get nice, thin and even slices. Just put these slices into a toaster until they are completely cooked through and a little brown on each side. Once they are out of the toaster, just slather the ghee on them and then sprinkle cinnamon onto them. After that… enjoy. You can pre-slice the sweet potatoes to have them all ready. This super-quick breakfast or even a dessert for your sweet tooth after dinner! It is one of our favorite whole 30 snacks.
Doing the whole 30 is something that we really value, but like all worthwhile things, it can be very hard to do. Find whole 30 snacks like this to get you through it and you will be a whole 30 champ in no time!
