Ingredients

ROOT BEER BUNDT CAKE INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Cups A&W Root Beer
  • 1 1/4 Cups Dak Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 Stick Butter Unsalted
  • 2 Eggs Beaten
  • 1 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda

FROSTING INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 1/2 Cups Confectioner’s Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Cup of A&W Root Beer

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Spray 10-inch bundt pan with cooking spray. Or you can butter it generously and dust it with flour.
  3. Mix together A&W Root Beer, butter, cocoa powder and chocolate.
  4. Once the butter is completely melted, add in the white and brown sugar.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and let cool.
  6. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and baking soda.
  7. Once you are certain that the A&W Root Beer mixture is cool enough to not scramble them, stir in the eggs.
  8. Gently combine the dry ingredients with the A&W Root Beer mixture. It is ok if the batter is not completely smooth.
  9. Pour the batter in to bundt cake pan and bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes. Checking with a small knife or toothpick works well. When it comes out clean, its done!
  10. While cake is baking, it’s time to make the frosting. Whisk together 1/4 cup of A&W Root Beer, confectioner’s sugar and vanilla. Once it’s smooth, it is ready to go!
  11. When cake is done, take out of the pan immediately to let cool. Drizzle icing over the cake.
