Hello. My name is Joe. I can’t believe it, but I’ve been a father for nine years now! Everyone always told me that they grow up fast. Everyone was right. Many of these moments fly by so quickly that just try to reach out and grab them. This blog is an effort to do that. Maybe someday my children will read about these experiences and learn a little about me or themselves. I hope so.
I worked in the Criminal Justice System of my County Government for 16 years. In that time, I was able to see and experience a lot of things. I like to believe that I was able to help out a lot people. I learned that not everyone is willing or able to except help, but just having the chance to go to work every day and try was fulfilling enough for me.
Just after our son was born nine years ago, my wife, Kathy started a blog about parenting. When she started amomsimpression.com, we had no idea what it would turn into. In these past years, we have watched her blog continue to grow. It has been amazing to see what she has accomplished. She inspired me to start this blog. She is a complete rock star to me!
One thing I’ve learned for sure is that parenting is many things. But I like to see it mostly as an adventure. That helps me keep my sense of humor and take in all of these challenges with wide eyes and a content heart. I’d love to share these adventures with anyone who wants to read along.
At the end of the day, I think a lot of us parents have much in common, the joys and the challenges alike. I hope you find something familiar in this blog and maybe learn something new!
