As Valentine’s Day quickly approaches, you may be scrambling to get the perfect gift for that someone special in your life.  Sometimes, this can be an easy (yet predictable) task.  You could get her new earrings or you can get him a new watch.  My wife loves Pandora Bracelets so I know I can never go wrong there.  Someday, she is going to run out of room on that thing and then I’m really going to be in trouble!  I admit that I am actually a pretty hard person to buy gifts for.  I’m a pretty simple guy and never really actually want anything.  This is why my wife usually just ends up buying me alcohol of some sort.  She knows I have a strong love for good bourbon and  a stronger love for REALLY good beer.  So she has become somewhat of an expert on ideas for a Valentine’s gifts for beer lovers.  I’d like to share some of these ideas with you.

My first suggestion of a great gifts for beer lovers in your life is to sign up them up for a beer of the month club.  Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club is one of the most popular options for this.  They have been offering a Beer of the Month Club since way back in 1994 and are the go-to option for this sort of gift.  Right now, they have some Valentine’s Day specials to entice you to send your love the gift of a frost fermented love bomb!  Take a look at their webpage to check out these rad deals!

Brewery Tours

Either the two of you can do this as a date (even on Valentine’s Day-now that is MY idea of romance!) or let him go with a buddy or two.  I am a HUGE beer fan yet have never been on a micro-brewery tour in my hometown.  I live is a sizable capital city of my state and have a good number of microbrewery options.  But being married with kids, going on a tour just isn’t something I’ve ever gotten around to doing.  So, this would be a great gift for me (Kathy, if your reading this…hint.. hint…hint…!).

Buy Some REALLY GOOD Beer

My wife always says that she is afraid to buy beer for me because my tastes are so discerning.  Yes, she has misfired a couple of times but, for the most part, she knows what I like.  During the winter months, I love drinking both Porters and Stouts.  But a nice heavy, dark, rich, chocolaty, smooth, creamy stout is exactly what the doctor ordered to keep me warm and comfortable by a fire.  So when I heard that one of my favorite breweries was upping their Stout game, I was pretty excited.  These beers by Rogue Brewery are the PERFECT gifts for beer lovers in your life. To begin, they have redesigned their Chocolate Stout with a super cool label featuring a pint class filled with chocolate candy.  Yes, chocolate is a classic Valentine’s Day gift.  But a pint glass filled with chocolate beer?  Ummmm, yes please!  With this new label and Rogue’s wonderful Chocolate Stout recipe, this makes the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for beer lovers.

Rogue Brewery has also literally doubled down on their chocolate offerings by giving us their Double Chocolate Stout. This limited release beer, only available through the month of February, features a bright red bottle that would also be the perfect thing to unwrap on Valentine’s Day.  Inside, your beer lover will find a perfect balance of earthy oats and hops, a creamy head and a rich chocolate finish.  I actually used their super cool beer locator tool to find this beer. The closest I could find was about a 25 minute drive away.  So, yep, I jumped in my car and am drinking it right now as I am writing this.  It is, quite honestly, a perfect beer.  Sweet in all the right places but also lets you know that it means business as well at 9% ABV.
